The former Coronation Street actor was one of the many famous faces to join the Channel 5 show during it's big launch last night.
Ryan, 34, has been joined in the house by Lucy's ex and fellow former Towie star Dan Osborne, which is far from ideal for the couple.
But taking to Twitter today, Lucy, 26, wrote: "How would your life be different if…You stopped worrying about things you can’t control and started focusing on the things you can? Let today be the day, seize the day #happyfriday."
Lucy dated Dan, 27, during his short stint on Towie back in 2013, before meeting Ryan in May last year while filming Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls.
Dan is now married to EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa, but it didn't stop Ryan threatening to pull out of the show when he discovered he would be living with Lucy's ex.
However Ryan looked delighted when Dan walked through the door last night, greeting him with a big smile and an even bigger hug.
The actor warmly asked: "How's it going?"
However, the reality TV regular was just as pleased to see him, and grinned the whole way through their friendly encounter.
This is despite the fact he went to show bosses and told them it was either him or Dan, but they stood firm and eventually he backed down and agreed to go in, for a huge six figure sum.
A source said: "Ryan Thomas threatened to pull out of the show when he heard Dan Osborne was going in because he used to go out with Lucy Mecklenburgh.
"He was playing hardball and saying it was either Dan or him, but Celebrity Big Brother bosses stood firm and he eventually backed down. Now they're both doing it.
Ryan hates the fact he'll have to share such a small space with someone from Lucy's past.
"It's awkward and has been a rough start to his experience.
"It'll be interesting to see now how they both react once they meet inside the house.
"At least Ryan's getting a huge wedge of cash. He's a big name, so Channel 5 have paid through the nose."
