FANCY a sweet treat but don't have the budget after getting your Christmas food shop in? Need something to cheer you up after a long day trying to entertain the in laws?
Sainsbury's is spreading the Christmas cheer this Christmas, by giving select customers free gifts at the end of their shop.
Amy Tomkins, posting in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group said: "Went into my local Sainsbury's as was doing some shopping and at the end the staff member gave me these, choose me to gift them to. So happy, thank you."
Attached to Amy's post was a picture of some Taste The Difference mince pies, alongside a box of After Eight mints.
Next to the sweet treats was a message from the supermarket which read: "We wish you a very merry Christmas. We're treating you to an early Christmas gift to say thanks for shopping with Sainsbury's this season."
Many Facebook users replied to Amy's post to say that they had received similar treatment from the retailer.

One Facebook user said: "Love this! They gave my daughter a free selection box when we were in there at the weekend."
A second user said: "I had my Sainsbury's delivered yesterday and I was also given a free gift. I only got the mince pies though."
A third user said: "I got given some too this morning I gave them to my nan, she loves mince pies. A lovely surprise".
If that wasn't reason enough to head down to your local Sainsbury's, in the hope of nabbing some free goodies, the supermarket has also heavily discounted its vegetables this week, with items such as carrots and Brussels Sprouts on sale for just 19p.
