Alison Moyet, 60, wears a stylish floral print dress for a meeting with the Monarchy as she is made an MBE by Princess Anne and receives royal honours at Windsor Castle

Alison Moyet was made an MBE by Anne, Princess Royal at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.

The singer, 60, real name Geneviève Ballard, cut a stylish figure as she posed for pictures while holding her red lapel pin.

She wore a black and white dress with a floral pattern, with the garment being cinched in at the waist.

The star wore a pair of high-heeled black boots and went for a classic look with her make-up to show off her natural beauty.

Alison was seen smiling as she was presented with her order of chivalry at the royal residence.

She enjoyed a short conversation with Princess Anne who pinned the award to Alison’s dress.

It was announced Alison would receive an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours last year.

She has now joined the Members of the Order of the British Empire and is recognised for her services to music. 

After the news was announced last June, she Alison said: ‘I have been gifted an MBE on the occasion of the Queen’s Birthday.

Alison, who became one of the UK’s most successful singers of the 1980s, was one half of pop act Yazoo with former Depeche Mode musician Vince Clarke before finding success as a solo artist.

She has won three Brit awards and was nominated for a Grammy over the course of four decades and has worked with the likes of Nile Rodgers, Dusty Springfield and a-Ha among others.

Other music industry figures awarded this year include Rick Wakeman, Lulu and Skin from Skunk Anansie.
