Bloke grabs KFC and a pint after causing crash outside restaurant

An Australian man has been praised for 'having his priorities right' after being seen at the scene of a car crash to grab a KFC and a beer.

The bloke appeared to lose control of his Holden Captiva in Payneham earlier this week and ploughed into a power pole outside of KFC, knocked out electricity to nearby homes and businesses, 7news reports.

Workers had to carefully manage the power lines that had become strewn across Payneham Rd. But as carnage built up around the scene, the bloke decided to nip inside and get some chicken and a beer while he waited for emergency services to arrive.

The road had to be closed in both directions as the clean-up crews worked while he enjoyed his meal and a cold one.

It wasn't long before his picture made it to social media, where the tradesman was celebrated for his actions following the crash.

One person wrote: "Knocked down power lines, caused traffic chaos and caused a mass power outage, lucky to not hurt anyone. Did somebody say KFC?"

"That's a KFC advert you can't beat. Hope he gets a free bucket at least for this," a second added.

Another said: "Good to see he had his priorities right."

One joked that the image of the bloke "eating his food despite the chaos is the most Australian thing I've seen all year".

He isn't the only person to be seen chomping on some fast food at the scene of an accident.

In 2015, a woman was captured on CCTV gobbling pizza as a fatal car crash occurred just metres away. She carried on chomping before leisurely strolling off.

Only on this occasion, she wasn't celebrated, as people online were left questioning her compassion after she watched a collision that killed a young woman and seriously injured two more but made no attempts to get help.
