Mystery trail of lights spotted hovering above Texas sparks conspiracy frenzy

A mysterious line of light seen hovering above Texas has sent the internet into a frenzy – with explanations ranging from Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites to the infamous cigar-shaped UFO.

The short clip – taken above Hood County in the US state – shows the bright object hovering in the sky.

It seems to be slowly moving across the night sky without changing direction.

Behind the camera, the man asks: “What the actual f***?”

YouTube user ghost posted the clip to YouTube on February 2 and explained: “I saw this when I was about to do pt.

“Strangest thing I've ever seen in my life the lights eventually moved away and disappeared.”

The footage has exploded online since being picked up by conspiracy channel Mavi 777.

Some suggested the object was actually the Starlink satellites.

Starlink is a constellation of satellites that are being sent into space over the next few years by SpaceX.

At various points, they are visible from Earth and do bear a similarity to the one seen in the footage.

But they are usually seen as separate lights in a line, not one long row like the object caught on camera.

Others had different views. Another suggested it was the infamous Oumuamua satellite, referring to the first known “alien” comet to have been spotted passing through our solar system in 2017.

The object also bears a similarity to various sightings of a cigar-shaped UFO that has been seen across the US in recent months.

It comes after baffling footage emerged of two disc-shaped clouds appearing in the sky above Russia.

To add more strangeness to the clip, they then appeared to multiply.
