Coleen Rooney turned detective today, accusing friend and fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy of of selling stories about her to The Sun after doctoring her Instagram account.
In a statement posted on Twitter , Coleen revealed that she found out about her friend's treachery by blocking everyone from viewing her Instagram Stories except for Vardy.
"For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing The SUN newspaper of my private posts and stories," Coleen wrote on Twitter.
"After a long time of trying to figure out who it could be, for various reasons, I had a suspicion.
"To try and prove this, I came up with an idea. I blocked everyone from viewing my Instagram stories except ONE account.
"Over the past five months I have posted a series of false stories to see of they made their way into the Sun newspaper. And you know what, they did!
"Now I know for certain which account / individual it's come from.
"I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them.
"It's ………. Rebekah Vardy's account."
Instagram Stories are social media posts, usually containing images and videos, which appear in a slideshow format and vanish after 24 hours.
Unlike Timeline posts, users are able see who has viewed their Instagram Stories.
While not many of us are famous enough to worry about followers leaking our personal information to the press, it may come as a surprise to discover you can block certain people from viewing your Instagram Stories.
This can be a useful way to protect you privacy – whether it's from your parents, an ex-partner or even a friend you've fallen out with.
Here's how to hide your stories from someone.
- Go to your profile and tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner;
- At the bottom of the menu, tap "Settings";
- Tap "Privacy" and then "Story"
- Tap "Hide story from"
- Select the people you would like to hide your story from
- Tap "Done (on iPhone) or the tick icon (on Android)
You can also choose people to hide your story from as you're looking at who's seen your story.
Just tap the three dots to the right of their name and select "Hide Story From [Username]"
Keep in mind that hiding your story from someone is different from blocking them, and doesn't prevent them from seeing your profile and posts.
