Warrington's Ben Murdoch-Masila says a prayer circle could happen at Wembley

Players from Down Under – particularly New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga – have been seen on their knees in circles after games throughout the season.

And Warrington man Murdoch-Masila says there is every chance Wembley could witness one after the game and any player, be they with the Wolves or Catalans, is welcome to join.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a Pacific Islander thing,” said the Tonga back-rower. “I just think we as Pacific Islanders were just brought up giving thanks to God.

“And yeah, I would do one after the Cup final and will leave the invitation open to anyone who would like to join in a moment’s peace after the game.”

Murdoch-Masila’s move to Warrington came after he was part of Tonga’s squad that bowed out of the World Cup in an epic semi-final with England.

Things happened so quickly, even he was caught out by the switch from Salford but now he feels it is for the best and as a player, Wembley is his kind of stage.

The 27-year-old added: “It seemed like I was the last to find out what I was doing, where I was going to be in 2018.

“When making the move I knew there was going to be a lot of expectation not only on me but the team and club itself. But in saying that I’m happy it worked out how it has worked out.

“And as a pro rugby league player these are the games you want to be in, to test yourself against the best on the big stage.”
