IN 2014 podcast fans around the world were gripped by Serial, with its tale of a Baltimore man found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend.
The woman behind that successful series, which pointed at holes in the case, was Sarah Koenig.
Who is Sarah Koenig?
Sarah Koeing, born on July 9, 1969, is aa US journalist and podcaster from New York.
She is best known for her award-winning podcast Serial, which was the fastest podcast in history to receive five million downloads, according to iTunes at the time.
After graduating from college Sarah began working as a reporter at The East Hampton Star.
She then worked in Russia as a reporter for ABC News, and later for The New York Times.

In 2014 Sarah unleashed her first season of her podcast, Serial
The series focused on Adnan Syed's story – the Baltimore man who was convicted of killing his girlfriend Hae Min Lee but always maintained his innocence.
In the podcast, Sarah investigated the murder case and created doubt over his conviction – which was later overturned in 2022.

She revealed weaknesses in the evidence which was used to convict him and also raised questions about his defence lawyer, Maria Gutierrez, who was suffering from multiple sclerosis at the time.
After this she released two more seasons of her Serial podcast.
Who is producer Dana Chivvis?
Dana is the producer who worked alongside to bring Serial to life.
Speaking to The Guardian about the podcast's popularity, she said: "It was weird. We were at the centre of this whirlwind and we were just hunkered down, producing and recording.
"By episode seven or eight, we were on a schedule: we would do a first edit Friday or Saturday, second edit Saturday or Sunday, third edit Monday, then we would record Sarah Monday afternoon.
"There would maybe be enough time to eat lunch between the last edit and recording Sarah."
Is Sarah married and does she have children?
Sarah is married to her husband Ben Schreier.
