Netflix snaps up Millie Bobby Brown’s Sherlock Holmes spin-off with Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham Carter – The Sun

NETFLIX has picked up the Sherlock Holmes spin-off starring teen sensation Millie Bobby Brown.

Millie, 16, will play Enola Holmes the little sister of the famous detective in the film of the same name.

Superman's Henry Cavill will play Sherlock himself while Helena Bonham Carter will also star.

Peaky Blinders actor Sam Claflin will also appear in the film which is an adaptation Nancy Springer’s book series The Enola Holmes Mysteries.

Not much is known about the upcoming film but the book follows which features Enola who is looking for her missing mother after she disappears on the girl’s 16th birthday.

Directed by Fleabag's Harry Bradbeer, the film was announced a couple of years ago but struggled to find a distributor.



That is until streaming giant snapped up the drama and said in a tweet it's “coming soon”.
Netflix announced the show in a tweet writing "what's that?" followed by four footprint emojis.

The tweet continued: "A new Sherlock Holmes film led by
Millie Bobbie Brown, Henry Cavill, Sam Claflin, and Helena Bonham Carter?

"ENOLA HOLMES, a [film] from FLEABAG director Harry Bradbeer. Coming soon to Netflix."


 

Millie shot to fame in 2016 after landing the role of Eleven in sci-fi Netflix series Stranger Things at the age of 12.

Her portrayal of the telekinetic character won her critical acclaim and prestigious award recognition, including a Screen Actor's Guild award and two Emmy nominations.

Millie had been busy shooting season four of Stranger Things until production was halted due to the coronavirus.

The 16-year-old actress is isolating with her family and beloved pet dogs during coronavirus lockdown.

Millie has regularly been updating her 32.6 million followers on life in lockdown on Instagram.
