Love Island ratings dip for first winter series show compared to summer 2019 launch

Love Island’s winter series ratings have dipped after the show launch on Sunday, with 800,000 fewer viewers tuning in.

More than 2.5million people tuned in for the show, which is currently being filmed in Cape Town, South Africa.

Compared to the summer series of the show, which was won by Amber Gill and Greg O’ Shea, less people tuned in to watch, however, the ratings currently only include live viewing and not those watching on catchup on the ITVHub.

For the launch of last year’s summer series, 3.3million viewers watched live.

This series is also the first to be presented by Laura Whitmore after she replaced Caroline Flack on the show.

Caroline's exit from the show came just days after she was arrested and charged with assault by beating.
