Inside Amanda Holden’s career as she returns to I Can See Your Voice

TV personality Amanda Holden will return to our screens tonight as a panellist on the second episode of I Can See Your Voice season two.

The BBC mystery game show series sees two contestants who have to judge who they think is a singer from a group of mystery guests, without hearing their voice.

The contestants are helped by the celebrity panel – consisting of Amanda, Alison Hammond and Jimmy Carr- who will dish out clues over four rounds.

The second series of I Can See Your Voice began on October 15, with two lucky contestants swooping the £10,000 cash prize.

Amanda is well known in the world of TV thanks to her appearances on evening entertainment shows, but how did her career on the small screen start? Here's everything you need to know about Amanda Holden.

How did Amanda Holden rise to fame?

Amanda, who was born in Portsmouth in Hampshire, made her first TV appearance as a contestant on the game show Blind Date in 1991, which was famously presented by Cilla Black.

From 2006 to 2008, the TV personality appeared as Sarah Trevanian in three series of ITV's Wild at Heart alongside Stephen Tompkinson.

Amanda then went on to star in the likes of Kiss Me Kate, EastEnders and Jonathan Creek before she bagged her role on the Britain's Got Talent judges panel.

The 51-year-old joined the talent show as a judge alongside Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.

When filming wrapped for each series of BGT, Amanda focused on other TV projects, starring in the likes of This Morning, Dispatches and The Holden Girls: Mandy & Myrtle.

Over the years, she has also dabbled in theatre as she starred in Shrek The Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Stepping Out.

In addition to her TV and stage work, Amanda replaced Emma Bunton as co-host of Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston in 2019.

Is Amanda Holden married and does she have children?

Amanda tied the knot to second husband and record producer Chris Hughes in 2008.

She was initially married to comedian Les Dennis but the couple split in 2002, two years after it was revealed that the TV personality had an affair with Neil Morrisey.

Amanda met now-husband Chris in Los Angeles one year after her split from Les.

The couple have two children together, Alexa and Hollie, and in February 2011, Amanda sadly lost their baby son Theo when he was stillborn at seven months.
