Brad Pitt cut a casual figure as he attended the Formula One US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas on Friday.

The actor, 58, kept things low-key in a white T-shirt, which he teamed up with a light blue zip-up jacket and coordinating baggy trousers.

His latest sighting came one day he held a dinner meeting with Lewis Hamilton to plot their upcoming Formula One blockbuster.

The Fight Club star accessorised his look with a white bucket hat and silver-rimmed aviator sunglasses as he strolled into the Circuit Of The Americas ahead of the free practice.

He was also seen in deep conversation with Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner, the husband of Spice Girl Geri Horner.

Lewis, 37, is producing a new movie which stars Brad as a former driver who comes out of retirement to coach an up-and-coming talent.

Tucked away inside a private room at Eddie V’s Prime Seafood Restaurant in downtown Austin on Thursday night, the pair were joined by Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff and F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali.

Greg Maffei, CEO of Liberty Media – the American company which owns F1 – was in attendance, as were Lewis’ father, Anthony and stepmother, Linda.

Joseph Kosinski – the man behind Top Gun: Maverick, who will direct the F1 movie – also sat at the table.

It is hoped it will build on Netflix’s Drive to Survive series, which has drawn in a new audience who now understand that what happens on track is only a fraction of what this sport is about.

Lewis made a speech that was greeted with warm applause and then they tucked in.

The film that goes under the working title Formula One, it can be revealed, will involve all the teams in real-life action at grands prix – an idea discussed when Domenicali and Pitt watched Top Gun: Maverick together in London earlier this year.

It will be aired on Apple TV, who announced in June they had landed the rights for $140million (£125m).
