Coleen Rooney flies to Barbados as tensions rise over Wagatha Christie legal battle with Becky Vardy

COLEEN Rooney flew to Barbados yesterday as tensions rose over her Wagatha Christie legal battle.

She left the UK with hubby Wayne and kids after rival Becky Vardy said their feud had driven her to near-suicide.

The claim was in papers submitted to the High Court as part of her libel case against Coleen, 34.

Pals of both fear the row is placing untold pressure on them.

The Rooneys, wearing masks, flew out of Gatwick with Coleen’s mum Colette and dad Tony.

Ex-England captain Wayne, 34, is said to have concerns over the fight with mum-of-five Becky, 38.

He wants to avoid the type of mud-slinging seen in the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case.

Coleen has hired Depp’s lawyer David Sherborne to represent her. A source said: “Like any husband would be, Wayne is concerned about the impact it is having on her and the family.

“He, like Coleen, would prefer it was settled out of court. But he told her he’ll back her all the way.”

Another source added: “The holiday was planned for a long while but it’s come at just the right time.

“This is putting them all under considerable strain.”

Coleen and Becky met virtually for arbitration this year but failed to settle the dispute over leaked stories.

Coleen claimed last October that she posted false stories on her restricted Instagram account which were then printed in The Sun.

She said they had been viewed by one person, ending her post dramatically: “It’s . . . Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

All the stories were put to Coleen’s representatives before publishing.

Becky, wife of Leicester ace Jamie, 33, denies the claims and is seeking damages.

Lawyers for her wrote: “The abuse that followed the post made the claimant feel suicidal.”
