I'm a mum… here's my six hacks for travelling on a plane with a toddler… including the best time to fly | The Sun

A SAVVY mum has shared her top tips for travelling on a long haul flight with your toddler.

It can be hard at the best of times to keep a young child entertained – but especially when you're stuck 30,000ft in the air.

In a video posted to TikTok, Suslim Rai-Allen revealed her mum hacks for keeping little ones content on-board.

She said: "Make sure to book a night flight."

Which was echoed by one dad in the comment section who wrote: "Flight tip from a dad, don't book the 6am flight because it's half the price, trust me on this."

The second thing Suslim highlighted was that the changing tables on air crafts are usually too small and impractical.

AVOIDING MESS

Suslim explained food such as cereal is great for keeping her son entertained and busy for a while.

To avoid mess in your toddler's rucksack, or stain your carry-on bag, this mum said: "Carry your kid's clean sets of clothes in individual nappy sacks for accessibility and put the dirty ones back in the same sack.

"Don't forget spare clothes for yourself in your hand carry."

SLEEP AID

Some toddlers can fall asleep anywhere, anytime – but for those who might struggle in noisy environments a PA from the captain could be a parent's worst nightmare.

But not to fear, Suslim suggested: "Headphones to avoid any loud noise and announcements."

One flight attendant even wrote in the comment section: "As cabin crew, these are great hacks!"

An impressed parent penned: "This is exactly the information we needed."

"Yes to travelling at night, best for mum and the other passengers," a third agreed.

"Excellent advice, I used when mine was little, she's 13 now and a seasoned traveller," someone else wrote.
