Beat Sky TV’s price rise by making this simple change to how you watch television

Sky has just announced a price hike on a number of its services with some costs increasing by up to £72 a year. That news may not go down too well with anyone affected by the changes which are targeting Sky Broadband Essential (up by £2 per month) and Sky TV Entertainment users (up by £2 per month).

There’s also an increase if you have Sky TV Multiscreen and Sky HD TV with these options rising by £1 per month.

Speaking about the price rise, a Sky spokesperson said: ”We know price increases are never welcome, so we try to keep prices down while continuing to bring customers the best entertainment all in one place, leading customer service and even more flexibility to choose the package that best suits them.”

If you think this is too much to bear then there is a very simple change you can make that could help to reduce your Sky bills.

As long as you are out of your current contract you can make the switch to NOW TV with the Sky-owned streaming service offering some seriously good value for money right now.

This subscription-free platform has numerous deals available which mean you can get top entertainment, movies and sports beamed to your living room at a cheaper price.

JUST IN: Sky, Virgin Media and BT forced to stop you overpaying for TV and broadband

  • Now BT customers face the same hidden costs as Virgin Media customers

Right now you can buy a three month pass for Sky Entertainment and Cinema for £24.99 – saving £37.95.

There’s also a one month pass for Sky Cinema and Entertainment for £4.99 – saving over £15.

If it’s sports you want then there’s a very good deal which beams every Sky Sports channel to your living room for £19.99 per month.

This deal lasts for six months and would usually cost £33.99 meaning you save £84 over the term of the offer.

There is one final promotion for anyone who doesn’t mind watching sport on their phone with Sky giving customers five months of access for £9.98 – this deal even includes a day pass for your TV.

It’s worth noting that all of the NOW TV deals above require a good internet connection as all content comes to your home via a web connection.

Once the deals have ended you can leave at any time as there’s no long-term contract to sign.
