    Ireland chase 12th straight win

The two old rivals could hardly be in more contrasting form.

Ireland's 11-game winning streak dates back to July 2022.

That includes a series win in New Zealand and a Six Nations Grand Slam, plus victories over Australia and South Africa.

In contrast, Steve Borthwick has had a terrible time since succeeding Eddie Jones in December last year.

Will it be Red Rose glows or woes?

England are in Ireland today for their latest World Cup warm-up game – looking for their first fluent performance since… hmmm, a tough question.

New coach Steve Borthwick won just two Six Nations games before the recent double header with Wales – losing 20-9 in Cardiff then winning 19-17 at Twickenham last weekend.

And Borthwick has picked a strong side for the 5.30pm kick-off- making six changes.

That's partly because England will launch their World Cup bid with their two hardest pool matches – against Argentina and Japan.

So the Red Rose might be prioritising a cohesive performance over a strong result.
