A WWE star has told ex-Premier League striker Peter Crouch to "delete" the viral slipup meme as fans now expect a "surprise" appearance.

The former Stoke City and Liverpool forward took a hilarious tumble in a recent appearance during matchday coverage, slipping over a ball when striking at an open goal. The now viral clip has seen thousands mock the lanky legend of the game.

But participants of the WWE, particularly Noam Dar, say he needs to delete the clip. Crouch reposted an edit of his slip up being used in a WWE ring a few days ago.

The incredible edit, which saw the 42-year-old put in the ring, has since garnered the attention of in-ring competitors, with Scottish Israeli wrestler, Noam Dar asking for the takedown of the post.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the three-time NXT Heritage Cup winner wrote: "Delete this". Fellow wrestling fans piled in and expected Crouch to appear in an upcoming match.

Fans seem keen to have the former Premier League player in the ring for a few bouts at an upcoming WWE PPV. One X user wrote: "Surprise entrant into a Heritage Cup triple threat at No Mercy".

Another suggested active roster member Noam Dar invite the 6ft 7in striker to join his stable in the WWE. Another user wrote: "I think he should join meta four lol". Meta Four being the stable Noam Dar is leader of.

He is not the only footballer tipped or mentioned near WWE, with the flagship wrestling company hoping to bag Cristiano Ronaldo for an appearance at the Crown Jewel PPV in November. Whether the current Al Nassr player partakes in wrestling is yet to be seen.

The company appears very keen to nab Cristiano Ronaldo for an appearance at their upcoming event, though there is no confirmation as to whether he will appear or not. At present, WWE is "working on a deal" to get the 38-year-old involved.

The Daily Star previously reported the deal, with the Crown Jewel show slated for a November 4 date. It gives the company just over a month to secure the Ballon d'Or winner for the show. It is understood Ronaldo would receive a "large appearance fee" should he agree.
