Burger records

Most Calorific Burger Commercially Available

This title officially belongs to the Quadruple Bypass Burger, which is sold at the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas.

It’s got nearly 10,000 calories and weighs just under 1.5kg.

However, this record has been surpassed by the Heart Attack Grill’s Octuple Bypass Burger.

It’s got 8.5 beef patties, 16 slices of cheese, a whole onion, two beef tomatoes, chilli and the bun.

You can also choose to add 40 rations of streaky bacon.

It weighs approximately 6.5lbs and cost just over $20. It has just under 20,000 calories.

Most Expensive Hamburger (single portion)

The clarification of “single portion” is needed because there is another Guinness World Record holder, Juicy’s Outlaw Grill, which boasts the “most expensive hamburger” title.

That burger weighed over 352kg and cost $5000.

The “single portion” title belongs to Robbert Jan de Veen from De Daltons Restaurant in the Netherlands.

After reading about the $5000 burger, he decided to create a €5000 burger that could reasonably be eaten by one person in one sitting.

The result was the Golden Boy burger.

The hefty price tag comes from the ingredients, which include a Dom Pérignon bun and onion rings, wagyu beef and Beluga caviar.

The bun is then completely covered in gold leaf, leaving you with golden fingers and the chance to play King Midas and turn everything you touch to gold (well, gold coloured).

So far only one Golden Boy has ever been sold.

It was eaten by Rober Willemse, chairman of the Dutch Food and Beverage Association.

De Daltons donated the €5000 to a local foodbank.

Largest Hamburger

On 9th July 2017, six men from Germany made their dreams of creating the world’s largest hamburger come true.

Christian Dischinger, Hans Maurer, Rudi Dietl, Tom Reicheneder, Wolfgang Leeb and Josef Zellner made a burger that weighed just over 1164kg.

It had three patties, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, onions, hamburger sauce and a bun.

Most Big Mac Burgers Eaten in a Lifetime

Guinness World Records handed this title to Donald Gorske on 31st December 2021 after Donald reached a total of 32,672 burgers consumed.

However, this Big Mac King was far from done.

The Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, resident has eaten at least one Big Mac nearly every day for the past 50 years.

The few days missed have been for reasons such as a blizzard closing his local McDonald’s branch.

The challenge started in 1972, and on 22nd May 2022, Donald celebrated the challenge’s 50th anniversary.

It is estimated that Gorske has now eaten over 33,000 Big Macs.

Largest Collection of Hamburger Related Items

Harry Sperl, or “Hamburger Harry”, from Daytona Beach, USA, was recognised as the owner of the latest hamburger-related memorabilia collection on 20th September 2014.

The collection took over 26 years to accumulate and includes items such as t-shits, posters, light shades and cushions.

There are also some unusual treasures, such as a giant hamburger waterbed, a life-sized Ronald McDonald statue and a 1987 custom-built Harley bike.

It has pickle handles, Ketchup bottle shock covers and onion wheel rims.

So, how many items did Harry have in order to be the collector of the most hamburger-themed items in the world? The answer: 3724.
