All the Times Prince George Showed He'll Be a Great King Someday

It may be a little too early to say, but Prince George, who turns 9 on July 22, certainly has a lot of the makings of an excellent future king. And he has his parents to thank for that!

According to multiple sources, the young royal is adventurous, kind and sociable. When he’s not exploring the outdoors and chatting about sports, he’s begun raising money for a charity that’s close to his dad’s heart.

“My parents taught me about the importance of qualities like kindness, respect, and honesty, and I realize how central values like these have been to me throughout my life. That is why William and I want to teach our little children, George and Charlotte, just how important these things are as they grow up,” Kate explained during her visit to Mitchell Brook Primary School in February 2017, per US Weekly. “In my view it is just as important as excelling at maths or sport.”

Prince George and his siblings are not only learning about the importance of kindness, they’re also being taught to articulate their emotions  — which is such a crucial skill for every single person to have. “We hope to encourage George and Charlotte to speak about their feelings, and to give them the tools and sensitivity to be supportive peers to their friends as they get older,” Kate noted in an essay for Huffington Post UK in 2016. “We know there is no shame in a young child struggling with their emotions or suffering from a mental illness.”

In celebration of George’s big birthday, we’re breaking down all the reasons we think he’ll make a great king someday.
