While Grace Warrior Irwin has shown the world just how similar she is to her dad, Chandler Powell, on numerous occasions throughout her short life, the tiny tot is even more so alike her mom, Bindi Irwin. From their uncannily identical facial features to their shared interests, Grace Warrior seems to be following in her mom’s footsteps in more ways than one.
The 2-year-old has already made it clear that the Irwin love for wildlife and animals of all sorts is an innate trait passed from generation to generation. Grace is a frequent zoo visitor, a Great Barrier Reef enthusiast, her dog’s best friend, a penguin imitator, and a tortoise lover — just like her mom was at the same age.
Bindi frequently documents their adventures on her Instagram, and it seems like each day brings about a new similarity between her and the toddler. We can only imagine how much more remarkable their similarities will become as Grace gets older, in both their looks and their interests.
Steve Irwin’s granddaughter made her way into the world on March 25, 2021, exactly one year after Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell married. That was only the beginning of Grace’s undeniable magic, which seems to live through her as if passed directly from her beloved late grandfather.
Though the instances are so frequent that we couldn’t possibly include them all, we’ve rounded up some of the most poignant occurrences in which Grace Warrior has proven she’s already following in Bindi’s footsteps — and, subsequently, her “Grandpa Crocodile’s” too.

She’s Besties With Her Doggie Cousin
Proving to have a penchant for pugs like her mom, Grace Warrior is “best friends” with her Uncle Robert’s fur baby, Stella the pug. In a June 2023 photo posted to the pup’s personal Instagram account, the toddler and dog are both being held upside down by their dads while grinning at each other. This is just one of many interactions between Grace and Stella that the Irwins have shared, and we’re sure there are many more to come!

She’s Knowledgeable About Reptiles
Grace Warrior has some serious reptile knowledge at her disposal for a 2-year-old. In a July 2023 video, the little girl walked along a beach with her family, exclaiming along the way, “Like a plesiosaur!”
What exactly is a plesiosaur, dear adult reader? It’s an extinct marine reptile with an extremely long neck that lived during the Triassic and Cretaceous periods. Because, you know, toddlers know about these things. Well, clearly when they’re an Irwin, they do.

She Loves Exploring the Zoo
Grace Warrior hits the zoo all the time, and in a June 2023 Instagram photo, she looked happy as a clam walking a path in an Australian wildlife park with a tiny elephant toy in her hand.
During an April 2023 interview with Hello! magazine, Bindi shared, “Grace already loves animals so much that it’s easy to share the wonder of animals together. I’m excited knowing that as she gets older we will be able to impart little gems of information about each animal she meets,” the proud mom said.

She’s a Fan of Koalas
In July 2023, Powell posted a photo of himself and Grace smiling next to a koala at the Australia Zoo. The toddler was positively beaming beside the small furry animal, clearly a fan of the marsupial mammal as her mom was as a child before her. “Koala happiness @australiazoo 🐨,” Powell captioned the sweet photo.
-
She Unintentionally Recreated This Moment of Her Mom’s Childhood
In a May 2023 video that showed just how cosmically similar Bindi and Grace Warrior are, the mom of one shared a photo of her lovingly leaning on a tortoise as a child, followed by one of Grace doing the same thing in a nearly identical pose. The toddler not only looks strikingly similar to her mom, but they even have the same mannerisms as well.

She’s Already Narrating Her Wildlife Excursions
No sooner than Grace was able to talk was she narrating her wildlife excursions, proving the Irwin genes really do carry conservationism. During their May 2023 trip to the Great Barrier Reef, the toddler chanted “Great Barrier Reef” over and over in a video shared by Bindi.

She Feels a Deeper Connection to Other Creatures
Bindi shared a touching video of Grace and Robert’s pug Stella in January 2023. The tiny tot walks up to the pup and gently leans forward to rest her forehead against Stella’s. Who’s cutting onions all the sudden??

She’s Already Pitching In Around the Zoo
Before Grace Warrior turned 2 years old, she was already pulling her weight at the Australia Zoo! In September 2022, Bindi shared a hilariously adorable video of the 1-year-old drunk-toddler-walking around the wildlife park while carrying a toy hammer and bucket. The celebrity conservationist captioned the post, “When everyone goes home for the day, Australia Zoo’s maintenance crew heads to work!”

She Does a Stellar Penguin Waddle
During a July 2023 family vacation to Tasmania, Grace literally followed in her mom’s footsteps — penguin-like steps at that. The 2-year-old joined Bindi and her grandma Terri (who she adorably calls “Bunny”) to waddle like penguins, which fans delighted over in a video on Bindi’s Instagram.
-
She’s Experiencing the Same Childhood as Her Mom & Uncle
In January 2023, Robert shared two nostalgia-coded photos of himself, Bindi, Terri, Chandler, and, of course, little Grace. In black and white, the adults are surrounding their favorite human with huge smiles on their faces. Grace gazes at the camera, soaked to the bone. The second shot shows the toddler splashing around in a pond, and one person fittingly commented, “She looks like she just finished wrestling crocs after a long day.”
If we weren’t crying before, we totally are now.

She Misses Her “Grandpa Crocodile” Too
Though she never got the chance to meet her “Grandpa Crocodile,” we get the feeling that Grace Warrior misses him as if she had. In another touching photo shared on Instagram in June 2022, Bindi held her daughter as they stood in front of a gallery wall featuring photos of Steve. Grace is pointing at one of the framed shots, making us and every other Irwin fan positively weep.
