Kate Hudson has officially added a little girl to her family brood!
The actress welcomed new baby Rani Rose on Tuesday, Oct. 2, making the child Hudson’s first and only daughter. Hudson shared a post about Rani’s birth on Wednesday, explaining that she and boyfriend Danny Fujikawa chose her name — which is pronounced like “Ronnie” — in honor of Danny’s dad, Ron Fujikawa.
“Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly,” she wrote. “To name her after him is an honor.”

The new baby is Hudson and Fujikawa’s first child together, but Rani has two big brothers in Hudson’s other children, 4-year-old Ryder and 6-year-old Bingham.
SURPRISE!!! ? If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so absent on my social channels it’s because I have never been more sick! It was the most sick first trimester of all my children. Boomerangs have made me nauseous, Superzoom is an easy way to have my head in the toilet, food instagrams make me queezy and thinking too much about insta stories made me even more exhausted than I already had been. If you’ve seen me out and about smiling and pretending like everything is amazing…I was lying! BUT! I have broken through on the other end of that and rediscovering the joys of insta/snap. We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar for as long as possible but I’m a poppin now! And it’s too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it! My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl on the way ?

Hudson spoke about her third pregnancy earlier this year, saying that she was “taking it easy.”
“I don’t feel any differently,” she said. “But I’m excited that we’re going to even out the gender ratio in the house.”

Fans might have been caught off guard when Hudson and her family initially announced the pregnancy news months ago, but sources told People that the couple had been trying to get pregnant for awhile.
