With the end of the year rapidly approaching, diners will no doubt be looking forward to their New Year’s Eve plans.

However, those who are thinking of heading for a slap-up meal at one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants on December 31 had better save up their pennies as his special menu costs an eye-watering £400 per person.

And if diners plan to washing their pricey meal down with a refreshing beverage, they had better beware as drinks are not included in the cost.

How much?! Those who are thinking of heading for a slap-up meal at one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants on December 31 had better save up their pennies as his special menu costs an eye-watering £400 per person

At the chef’s three-star Michelin flagship Chelsea restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, guests will be able to feast on the likes of Duck Tea and Orkney scallops as starters.

With the sample menu also featuring mouth-watering items including Dover Sole cardinal, Roast Veal sweetbread and a peanut praline parfait.

While £400 for a meal may seem more than a tad steep, if restaurant-goers want wine with their meal, they’ll have to fork out an additional £275 – rocketing the price to a huge £675.

No way! And if diners plan to washing their pricey meal down with a refreshing beverage, they had better beware as drinks are not included in the cost

Customers not wishing to spend as much on their meal may refer an alternative Gordon Ramsay restaurant, Pétrus, which will save them £100 on their bill as it comes in at £300 per person.

Diners will still have a deluxe menu to choose from with the likes of Isle of Skye scallop and roasted Anjou pigeon on offer.

It comes after last year, Gordon, 56, came under fire for charging a whopping £31.50 for fish and chips at his new restaurant.

The TV chef priced a piece of gurnard fried in cider at £24.50 while a portion of chips is on the menu for £7 at The River Restaurant in London.

The upscale eatery opened in October 2021 in the fancy five-star Savoy Hotel.

According to the website, the ‘stylish and relaxed all-day dining restaurant’ offers panoramic views of the River Thames and ‘showcases the very best shellfish and seafood the UK has to offer’.

Gordon shared a snap of the fish and chips on his Instagram but many were unimpressed with the price in the comments section.

One woman wrote: ‘Rather eat my local chippy. At least it’s not kids’ portions.’

Another user joked: ‘Maybe one day if I win the lottery’.

‘£25 for that fish! Rip off, I could eat for a week for that,’ wrote a third.

However, some of his supporters leapt to his defence and said they were excited to try the cuisine at The River Restaurant.

‘A lot of jealous comments on this thread. If you don’t like his food, cost, portions then follow those you aren’t jealous of and leave those who appreciate good quality food to enjoy it,’ wrote one woman.
