Bobby Brazier reveals two words he would say to his late mother

Strictly’s Bobby Brazier reveals the two words he would say to his late mother Jade Goody as he dedicates emotional dance to her

Strictly Come Dancing star Bobby Brazier has revealed the two words he would say to his late mother Jade Goody if he could see her again.

Speaking before his emotional tribute to her on Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing, Bobby told The Mirror: ‘If I could see her again for one moment, I’d tell her, “Thank you” and give her a cuddle.’

Bobby, 19, was only five when Jade, who rose to fame on Big Brother in 2002, died of cervical cancer on Mother’s Day in March 2009.

On Saturday he and his Strictly partner Dianne Buswell will dance a Couple’s Choice routine to ‘This Woman’s Work’ by Maxwell, a song that the EastEnders star chose because it is close to his heart.

It comes one week after Dianne’s father Mark, who lives in Dianne’s native Australia with her mum Rina, started chemotherapy for his own cancer battle.

Moving: Bobby and his Strictly partner Dianne Buswell are gearing up to perform an emotional dance on Saturday night in tribute to his mother, Jade Goody

Before the show, he explained the significance of the song: ‘To me, this song is just perfect.

‘My dad used to play it when I was young, maybe about eight or nine, and it was really impactful for me.’

‘The lyrics are really profound. Maxwell sings, ‘I should be crying, but I just can’t let it show’, and when I was younger, I’d never cry… I’d never let myself feel vulnerable enough.

‘Those lyrics were the only thing that did make me cry because I knew they were so true.’

‘For me, this dance is about the difference between the vulnerability of being honest with yourself, and allowing yourself to grow through love.’

‘Or doing what’s easy, and being angry and resentful because it’s too hard to change.

‘My experience of that has been through the loss of my mum but as humans, I think we all experience those things, so I think everyone can relate to it.’

It will undoubtedly be a difficult performance for the dancing pair as Dianne’s father begins treatment for cancer.

What a ride! Jade rose to fame on the third season of Big Brother in 2002 and finished in fourth place, earning a hugely warm reception from the crowd as she exited the house

Brave: It comes one week after Dianne’s father Mark, who lives in Dianne’s native Australia with her mum Rina, started chemotherapy for his own cancer battle

Support: Dianne posted another photo of her father to her Instagram Story, where he wishes her luck for Saturday, with the Maxwell song she will dance to on Saturday in the background

Dianne hasn’t specified what cancer her has father has, but shared a photo of him on his first day of chemotherapy.

She said: ‘I’m so proud of you dad. First round of chemotherapy today!

‘I wish I could be there to hold your hand and support you in person but I do know that I’m making you so proud over here in my concert every week.

‘The Australian nurses and drs are now very aware of strictly come dancing as my dad won’t stop talking about it you can do this daddy xxx Go mark @mark.3802 @rinabuswell’.
