A SHOPPER was left delighted after managing to bag a pair of £120 adidas trainers for just £32 in TK Maxx.
But after taking to Facebook to boast about his purchase, others pointed out that they bear a striking similarity to something else – that people are now struggling to unsee.
"Today's bargain buy in TKMAXX, RRP £120!!!" Keith wrote on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook.
He also shared pictures of the blue and yellow adidas trainers, along with the receipt that showed how much he'd paid for them.
While many people praised Keith's bargain, others weren't so sure he'd got a good deal.
"Look like the Lidl trainers!" one person wrote, posting a picture of the trainers in question.

And, admittedly, the Lidl trainers – which sold for £14.99 in store – do look incredibly similar to the adidas ones.
However, a red streak on the Lidl trainers sets them apart from the adidas pair.
Others pointed out that while the RRP (recommended retail price) of the trainers was £120, it's unlikely they were ever sold for that much.
"Sadly the RRP quoted on many of TK Maxx's labels are grossly exaggerated," one person commented.

"I did a check on several pairs of shoes and bags a few weeks ago….they were BS.
"One bag stated RRP £99.99, it was available on the manufacturer's website for £44.99 and under that on two other websites.
"I'd take most of their labels with a pinch of salt!"
As someone else wrote: "There's no consumer law that states the brand or any store has to sell an item for the RRP.
"An RRP is set by the manufacturers as a guideline to what the product should be sold for, so that companies can decide what to set their prices at.
"They don't HAVE to sell it for that price. They can choose to sell it for half of that price.
"They can also sell it for higher than the RRP!"
"No way are they £120. Be surprised if u get £30 for them," another person quipped.
"They've never been £120 trainers!" someone else agreed.
"Well done if you like them!" another commented.
"I will also say that TK do appear to over inflate the RRP and find it weird how they are allowed simply because said item has been in some catalogue over priced but returned for whatever reason.
"But I have got some bargains myself previously!"
According to the TK Maxx website, items are usually secured when a designer overproduces.
