A TWO day heatwave is set to engulf the UK from today as a warm Atlantic plume moves in.
It comes as bookies think September could even be the hottest on record.
The weather front is set to move in from the west, bringing with it temperatures into the mid 20Cs as we move into autumn.
The sunny weather is expected to hit from Tuesday, as Met Office graphs show a 600-mile "subtropical swell" of warmer air sweeping in across the Atlantic.
Temperatures are expected to rise today for most Brits – with a "humid feel for many,” says the Met Office.

BOOKIES SLASH ODDS FOR 30C
Coral spokesman John Hill said: “School’s back but the sun’s out and punters believe Britain will bake.”

The South and Midlands will be warmest and driest. The North could see 22C but is due cloudier and showery days.
The back-at-school sizzle comes after holidays saw one of the worst summers for seven years.
Summer was cooler than five of the past seven summers since 2013, and wetter than six of the past seven summers, with rainfall up almost 35 per cent, Met Office figures showed.

WHAT IS A HEATWAVE?
The Met Office defines a heatwave as an extended period of hot weather which would normally be expected in the area at that time of year.
The agency said the UK heatwave threshold is met when a location records a period of at least three days in a row with daily maximum temperatures meeting or exceeding the heatwave temperature threshold.
Each county has its own threshold. See the UK temperature threshold map below.

HOTTER THAN NORTH AFRICA?
Britain is to be hotter than Morocco and forecast to push towards 30C (86F) from the weekend — as a 1,500 mile-wide ‘continental heat bulge’ boosts Indian Summer-style conditions.
The Met Office forecast 24C tomorrow with sunnier conditions and 22C — still 2C above average — from Thursday to Saturday, then the mid-20s on the cards from Sunday to Tuesday.
Up to 28C is shown on computer model forecasts.
Approaching 30C was forecast by The Weather Outlook, amid hot air from the continent – shown on a weather map.
