STRONG winds and heavy rain will hit western regions on Friday.

Saturday will be largely dry for southeast England but wet and windy weather elsewhere in the UK.

Sunday should see the weather settle with lighter winds and cooler temperatures.

UK outlook for Monday 15 October 2018 to Wednesday 7 November 2018

THE week will start mostly dry for most parts of the UK with fog clearing to give away to sunny spells.

Many areas will begin to become unsettled during mid-October with patches of rain broken up by sunny spells.

Heaviest rain will hit northern and west regions where gales could develop.

Temperatures should be close to average but it may drop enough for overnight frost.

The end of October and beginning of November looks like it will be mostly unsettled with wet and windy conditions.

The south and east will also enjoy dry and sunny spells.

On the whole temperatures are likely to vary around normal or slightly below.
