Moment ISIS bride’s children are reunited with dad after she abducted them

Two children who were kidnapped by their ISIS bride mum have been reunited with their dad after four years of hell.

A video shows Umit, eight, and his six-year-old sister Nisa meeting their dad again for the first time since tasting freedom.

The children were abducted from their home in the north-western Turkey by their mother, Fatma.

Fatma, 28, took them to Syria where she became an Islamic State fighter and married another man, Muhammet Celik, before they ended up with IS forces over the border in Iraq.

Celik and Fatma were killed fighting and the children ended up in Baghdad’s notorious Rusafa prison where they were identified only as ‘Baghdad 363’ and ‘Baghdad 364’.

They were brought back home following work by Turkish Foreign Ministry officials who are trying to help an estimated 450 Turkish children said to be in Iraqi jails and orphanages.

The youngsters will undergo a rehabilitation process, under the guidance of psychologists and doctors, because of the length of time they had been in prison before they will be reunited with their father full time.

Dad Yılmaz said that after four years without being able to see his children, his prayers had been answered.

"I have received the best gift of my life today. I am so happy that I cannot even describe it in words," he said.

He promised to do his best to help the children get over their experiences and to have good lives.

Yilmaz added that his wife had always said her daily prayers but had never been radical until she came under the influence of a group of other women.

He came home from work one day to find his wife and children gone.

He next heard from them a month later when Fatma phoned him to say they were in Syria.

He said that she had suggested going to Syria to "die together on Allah’s path" a week before she took the children, but added: "I thought she was joking. I didn’t take her very seriously."
