Halloween thunderstorms forecast for UK as Met Office issues weather warnings – see if you will be affected

Rain is expected right across the western part of the UK from south-west England to western Scotland.

The Met Office is also expecting some thunder and lightning in Wales and possibly north Devon.

England can also expect some showers as the rain moves from west to east during the evening and night.

For most places though it will be a mild night with temperatures hovering between 6-9C in England and Wales.

For Northern Ireland and Scotland though it will be much colder with temperatures dipping to as low as -3C.


South-east England could also see some showers from 9pm onwards with some outbreaks becoming heavily.

Met Office meteorologist Rachael West said: "It will be a fairly mild night for most of England with dry weather with some showers later on in the evening.

"It will be drier in Northern Ireland  but much colder."



There is currently a weather warning in place for Northern Ireland with fog expected to appear tonight and to linger into Thursday morning and the Met Office is telling drivers to take extra care on their morning commute.

Thursday will also see a west-east split with the west once again seeing some showers which will struggle to clear away.

Most areas will be cloudy with some outbreaks of rain.

Temperatures will stay around average for this time of year at around 13C.




Friday will start off cold and frosty but will turn into a "really decent day," according to the Met Office, with lots of sunshine for most areas.

Temperatures are set to hit 16-17C, around 3-4 degrees above average.

The evening though is expected to turn cloudy with some showers.

Over the weekend some breezy weather is due with some sunny spells while western Scotland and north-west England picking up some showers.

Sunday will also be on the breezy side with cloudy patches and some rain.
