Finland’s ‘party PM’ Sanna Marin quitting politics after her ‘hot girl summer’ as she announces major career change | The Sun

FINLAND'S so-called party PM has quit politics after a wild summer of partying.

Sanna Marin, 37, has bravely switched up her life after she failed to be re-elected in April after a wave of scandals rocked her premiership.

She had been dubbed the "coolest politician in the world" due to her relaxed style of leadership after becoming the world's youngest leader at the age of 34.

Now she has revealed a complete career change, having taken up a post as a strategic counsellor at a nonprofit organization headed by former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Marin said it was "time to move on" – but did not rule out a move back into politics in the future.

She told Finnish out Yle: "I am eager to step into a new role. I also believe that it can benefit the whole of Finland.

"I believe that I can serve those voters (in Finland) well and maybe even better in the new assignment."

The Tony Blair Institute, founded in 2016, works with political leaders "to create real change for their people by advising on strategy, policy and delivery".

Marin is set to advise political heads on their reform programmes.

Since leaving office earlier this year, Marin has enjoyed what has been dubbed a "hot girl summer".

She's been pictured posing at a series of festivals – including the three-day music and arts bash Flow Festival.

Marin was also snapped wearing a short black leather skirt and pink crop top with wedged shoes at a Helsinki-based festival.

In another, she can be seen donning a pink mini dress and thigh-high boots.

Marin came under fire last summer and was forced to deny she had used drugs after footage emerged of her twerking at a party.

A video then leaked of Marin – who married husband Markus Räikkönen in 2020 – dancing closely with a pop star at a nightclub.

And not long after losing the election, Marin revealed she and her husband were divorcing.

Marin burst onto the international political stage when she won 2019's Finnish election race, making her the world's youngest leader.

She has since been praised for her vocal support of Ukraine and for leading her country through the Covid pandemic.

Marin was also applauded for her role in advocating for Finland's successful application to join Nato.
