Yes, people are still dealing with “maskne.” As Regina George would say, “skin care is all that fits us right now.”

As folks figure out ways to keep their complexions in check, one trend has emerged: face cupping. What is face cupping? Glad you asked. The skin care practice is rooted in Chinese medicine. However, TikTok creators like ohdiarie, who has well over 11,000 loves on her face cupping video, are making it mainstream.

While you can find a plethora of suction cups for your face online, wellness brand WTHN sent me their Face Cupping Kit to review for myself. The kit comes with two sizes of face cups plus a carrying pouch. The larger face cup is to target areas like your jaw, neck and cheeks, while the smaller cup is ideal for the forehead and smile lines. Before you begin suctioning, it’s important to use a face oil or serum to ensure the cup has the slip it needs.

My review of the face cupping kit:

I was so excited to try face cupping, and it didn’t disappoint. Not only is it fun to suck the crap out of your face, but you can also see glowing results. I used e.l.f.’s All The Feels Facial Oil to do my “face work out” in the morning and night. In just a few days, I noticed my skin was glowing a lot more and even years-old texture had started to improve. One important thing to note is that you should definitely clean your face cup thoroughly after each use to avoid breakouts.

All in all, if you’re a skin care stan and don’t already have a face cupping kit, here’s a new TikTok and editor-approved beauty tool to add to your shopping list.
