Deadliest fire in California’s history is contained

The deadliest and most destructive blaze in California’s history is finally contained, officials said on Sunday.

Firefighters were able to create a perimeter around the so-called Camp Fire to keep it from spreading more than it already has, Cal Fire officials said.

The inferno, which sparked over two weeks ago in Butte County, has killed 85 people, with 249 still unaccounted for.

Over 150,000 acres of land were scorched and 13,954 residences burned to cinders.
