CNN finds another suspicious package sent to the network after intercepting it at mail centre

A package addressed to the news network's headquarters in Atlanta was identified at a post office in the area.

CNN's president Jeff Zucker issued a statement saying: "This morning, another suspicious package addressed to CNN was intercepted at an Atlanta post office.

"There is no imminent danger to the CNN Centre.

"All mail at CNN domestic bureaus is being screened at off-site facilities as of last Wednesday so this package would NOT have come directly to the CNN Centre, even if it hadn't been intercepted first.

"Our screening process is working and we will keep you updated as we learn more."

The package was intercepted three days after a man was arrested for sending a wave of parcel bombs to prominent Democrats, critics of U.S. President Donald Trump and CNN.

Cesar Sayoc, 56, was arrested on Friday and is suspected of sending 13 explosive devices to critics of the President, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Robert De Niro.

At this stage it is not known if the package intercepted today is linked to those Sayoc is suspected of posting.
