At least 30 people injured after floor collapses underneath them at house party

Shocking footage shows the moment a floor collapses underneath dozens of partygoers leaving at least 30 people injured.

The incident happened at an apartment complex three miles from Clemson University in South Carolina.

Guests were partying in a clubhouse building, which is a common area within the apartment complex, when the floor gave way beneath them.

Distressing footage shows people dancing before the floor suddenly collapses.

Clips then show dozens of partygoers screaming as they try to claw their way back up by holding onto pieces of the broken floor.

Management of the Woodlands of Clemson apartment complex said the floor collapsed when partygoers danced in unison, reports CNN.

People fell through the collapsed floor into the basement below.

Police said no individuals were trapped during the collapse and said it’s unclear if anyone suffered life-threatening injuries.

Clemson Police Chief Jimmy Dixon told Fox that officers received a call around 12.30am reporting the incident.

Responding officers found multiple people injured with 30 people being taken to three hospitals in the area.

Police said a group leased the clubhouse to hose a private party.

One partygoer called Raven Guerra, 20, told GMA: "By the time I had put one foot out the door, I felt that something was weird and that’s when everyone just collapsed and the guy behind me disappeared.

"Everyone was on the floor and people were screaming and there was wood sticking up from the floorboards."

"Turning around and seeing a bunch of people who used to be on the second floor now on the basement was really surreal and people were crying. It was a lot to take in."
