220st cow called Knickers who’s too big to be killed

A cow called Knickers is too big to be killed and towers over the rest of the herd.

Knickers weighs 220st and stands at a massive 6ft 4inches tall – but his mammoth size means he gets to live out his days roaming the fields in Western Australia.

His owner Geoff Pearson tried to sell Knickers at auction last month but meat processors said they couldn’t take him as he’s just too big.

Knickers if a Holstein Friesian but is far taller than other cows from the same breed.

Luckily for Knickers, he’s avoided the abattoir and will spend the rest of his days on Lake Preston feedlot in Myalup, which is around 85 miles south of Perth.

Striking images show Knickers towering over a herd of wagyu cattle.

Mr Pearson has had a huge from local media since a news station drew attention to the over sized cow.

He first bought Knickers as a ‘coach’ which is a castrated male cow called a steer that leads other cattle.

"He was always a standout steer from the others, a bit bigger than the rest," Mr Pearson addded.

While some of Knickers’ ‘mates’ were slaughtered at an early age, Knickers "was a standout so we thought let’s leave him there, he’s not hurting anyone".

However, they soon realised he hadn’t stopped growing and now he’s too big to be sent to the abattoir.

Mr Pearson believes Knickers will live for a few years yet and he’s beloved by the other cattle, who follow him around.

The farmer, who has 20,000 cattle, also revealed how he came up with the unusual name.

He said: "When he was young, when we first got him, we had a Brahman steer [a breed of cattle] which was a friend of his.

"So his name was bra… so we [had] bra and knickers.

"We never thought he would turn into a big knickers."
