When does Sean Slater return to EastEnders and is he back for good?

His reappearance and actions lead to a confrontation with Amy’s real dad Jack (Scott Maslen), with things further escalating when he realises that Sean doesn’t know Roxy is dead.

Stacey (Lacey Turner) is also shocked by Sean’s return, but she and Kat decide to keep the news from Jean in case she refuses to go to her chemo appointment as a result.

Jean does find out though, and is elated to see Sean again, even though he is shocked to learn what she is currently going through, and succeeds in upsetting her when he asks about her prognosis.

After a run-in with Stacey over the incident, she suggests he should leave and Sean prepares to go – only for Jean to suggest they spend some time away from Albert Square together, and head to a remote farm house.

The mother-son bonding experience gradually goes very wrong, however, when Jean injures her leg and begins to lose strength – leaving Sean fearful that she might die.

Will the ambulance get to the pair in time? You’ll have to keep watching to find out.

Is Sean Slater back for good?

It hasn’t yet been confirmed how long Sean Slater will be sticking around for, but Kazinsky – who has enjoyed success in such shows as True Blood and Second Chance in his time away, as well as appearing in movies including Warcraft and Captain Marvel – is clearly pleased to be back.

‘Throughout my career I have always felt that my best work was on EastEnders as Sean Slater, that there was something there in him that I understood completely, something traumatic, something that we never really got to show the viewers. I have unfinished business in Albert Square and am thrilled to be returning to what I still consider to be my home, however briefly.

‘EastEnders is still the most important serial on British Television, never afraid to combat hard storylines and tell hard truths, I have always been proud of what EastEnders has done for social awareness throughout my lifetime and that is why I’m back. To tell a story that means something to me with the family that I know can tell it right.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays on BBC One at 8pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
