Westlife star and Kerry Katona's ex husband Brian McFadden to appear on Dancing On Ice

The Sun Online can exclusively reveal the former Westlife star is returning to reality TV after a brief stint on The Jump in 2016.

A TV insider revealed: "Brian is about to sign on the dotted line and is really looking forward to being part of the show."

His latest career move comes after he was left out of a Westlife reunion by his former band mates who have signed a contract with Universal.

Brian – who was also married to Vogue Williams – has toured the UK and Ireland with Keith Duffy in a manband mash-up group called Boyzlife.

But he wasn't invited to join the group who are returning to the studio to record some new songs, The Sun revealed. The quartet are also planning to go on tour.

It's thought Kian, Shane, Mark and Nicky didn't sign with Syco boss Simon Cowell because he only wanted to do it if Brian was involved.

Westlife last performed together in 2012 after 14 number one singles in the UK as well as 50 million record sales worldwide.

Last April, Brian revealed the four other former members of Westlife turned down €10million each from Cowell to revert to their original line-up.

The group first formed in 1998, but after four years Brian quit the group to work on solo projects and spend more time with his then-wife Kerry.

Two years later the pair split, but still have an amicable relationship for the sake of their daughters 15-year-old Molly and Lilly-Sue.

He no longer speaks to ex-Vogue after their marriage broke down in 2012.

She recently gave birth to a baby boy with her reality TV star husband Spencer Matthews.
