Geordie Shore royalty and Queen of the I’m A Celeb… jungle Vicky Pattison has been announced as part of the star-studded cast for Iain Stirling’s new ITV2 sitcom, Buffering.

The 33-year-old star has well and truly found her feet where reality television is concerned, but now it appears she’ll be taking up a new challenge in the form of her first major acting role.

Buffering is set to air in August, so viewers won’t have to wait too long to watch Vicky in her acting debut. In the show, she'll be joined on the show by some of telly’s favourite faces, including EastEnders star Sam Womack, The Masked Singer host Joel Dommett and stand up comedian Lolly Adefope.

As for Vicky’s role, little is known at the moment about who she’ll be playing and what her character will be like.

The former Geordie Shore star found fame on the Newcastle-based reality show after starring in it for three years. She then appeared on a number of other reality TV shows, such as Ex on the Beach, Celebrity Masterchef and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

Now, she’s making a new kind of break into the small screen and we can’t wait to see it. Although Vicky’s upcoming role remains a mystery, we’re certain that viewers are in for a funny ride.

In addition to being the brains behind Buffering, Iain will also be starring in the show as a children’s TV presenter – also called Iain – with a severe aversion to kids.

The Love Island commentator will be joined by Killing Eve’s Elena Saurel who will play his on-screen love interest, TV producer Olivia.

However, as the pair battle through their turbulent relationship, it becomes clear pretty quickly that there are more downs than ups in their rollercoaster romance.

Throughout the show, we also meet Iain’s housemates: Rosie (Jessie Cave), Greg (Paul G Raymond), Ashley (Rosa Robson) and her former flame Robbie (Sean Sagar) and Thalia (Janine Harouni).

The show’s characters “are all navigating that age where they’re too old for nightclubs but too poor for mortgages."

The synopsis reads: “Part of a generation who are told they must live the perfect life, these friends discover it’s not only ok but healthy to fail, over and over again.”

Speaking for the generation he’s part of, Iain’s storytelling promises to bring the hopelessness many millennials feel into sharp, comedic focus.
