The Young and the Restless legacy character Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) is happy to be back in Genoa City. After living in London for several years, Noah decided to come home and be with his family. At first, fans were ecstatic to have Nick and Sharon Newman’s (Joshua Morrow and Sharon Case) son back. However, some viewers feel he should’ve stayed away.
‘The Young and the Restless’ fans annoyed with Noah Newman’s return
Noah returned to The Young and the Restless in October 2021. He reunited with Nick and the rest of the family in Tuscany for Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) wedding. Afterward, he came to Genoa City, where he’s settling into his new life.
Fans have called for Noah’s return for a while and were excited to have him back. However, his return isn’t living up to the hype so far. On Twitter, viewers voiced their displeasure over the writing of the character.
“Noah needs an exciting story; thee future generation of the show shouldn’t be so dull,” wrote one fan. “This Noah is so incredibly sad. Make Noah do something else than just run into Tessa and Mariah all the time!” another commenter chimed in.
Noah Newman may break up Tessa Porter and Mariah Copeland
One of the biggest reasons fans disapprove of Noah’s return is Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). Before moving to London, Noah and Tessa dated; however, their relationship ended when he learned of Tessa and Mariah’s kiss. During Noah’s absence, Tessa and Mariah became a couple. As for Noah, he had a girlfriend during his years living in London; however, they broke up before his return to Genoa City.
Since arriving home, Noah’s been working closely with Tessa on her new album. Although the two patched things up in Tuscany, Noah’s still thinking about their past. Fans believe Noah isn’t over Tessa and will be causing problems for her and Mariah.
Other storylines for the character
The Young and the Restless fans are against the idea of Noah and Tessa reuniting. Although the storyline would be dramatic, viewers want him to stay away from Tessa and Mariah and let them be happy. There are many other single women for Noah to date, including Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Also, the show could bring in Noah’s ex-girlfriend from London. The woman was never seen but has been the topic of discussion. Their breakup affected Noah, who left London to escape the painful memories. The arrival of his former lover would create drama and shed some light on what happened during his absence.
