‘The Voice’ Recap: Top 10 Show Off Skills in Fan Week

As it is fan week, each contestant on the NBC singing competition will perform a song selected by fans in front of the coaches in hopes of getting a spot in the Top 8.

AceShowbiz -Top 10 of “The Voice” season 22 returned to the stage in the Monday, November 28 episode. As it was fan week, each contestant would perform a song selected by fans in front of the coaches in hopes of getting a spot in the Top 8.

Team John Legend‘s Parijita Bastola kicked off the night with a beautiful rendition of “Scars to Your Beautiful” by Alessia Cara. Blake Shelton dubbed her a “masterclass” in expressing passion and joy, adding that her execution was perfect. Camila Cabello, meanwhile, said that she felt that performance deeply from her. Gwen Stefani and John agreed that it was a perfect song for Parijita.

Rowan Grace from Team Blake then hit the stage to sing “i love you” by Billie Eilish. Camila loved Rowan’s tone of voice on the song, while Gwen thought it was gorgeous and impressive for her age. John called the performance “challenging” and noted that Rowan “nailed it.”

Team Gwen’s Justin Aaron was up next, singing “Just Once” by Quincy Jones ft. James Ingram. Camila loved his tone and praised him for being able to perform at ease. Gwen said that the song was a perfect fit for him because of the key changes that he was able to master. She believed that Justin would be getting a lot of votes that night.

Following it up was Team Blake’s Brayden Lape, who performed his own version of “Homesick” by Kane Brown. Camila admitted that it was her favorite performance from him to date. Gwen praised Brayden’s song choice and found all of his performances so engaging. Blake, meanwhile, raved about the growth of his confidence.

Kim Cruise from Team John later performed “Love on the Brain” by Rihanna and earned a standing ovation from the coaches. Blake claimed her performance rendered him speechless, while John said that it was a perfect match between the song and her vocal ability. He also called it a “thrilling” and incredible performance.

Singing Morgan Wallen‘s “Sand in My Boots” was Bryce Leatherwood from Team Blake. John praised him for singing with confidence, adding that his voice always sounded at home in the songs he’s been singing. Blake said that he believed Bryce is still growing and will continue to pull in new fans every week.

Team Gwen’s Kique, who was saved in the live vote last week, performed “Call Out My Name” by The Weeknd. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to perform live due to COVID-19, so the show played a pre-recorded version of his performance from another location. John complimented the lower part of Kique’s range and said that he loved his arrangement. Gwen dubbed him and the performance flawless.

Morgan Myles from Team Camila then took the stage to sing “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton. John said that Morgan’s performance felt like something from an award show. Blake said it was incredible and Camila noted that Morgan was “shining” on the stage with “superstar status.”

Bodie from Team Blake was up next, singing “Golden Hour” by JVKE. His performance successfully brought the coaches on their feet with Camila admitting that he was starstruck by Bodie. “You are such an artist! You are different than anyone else here,” she said. Blake commented, “This may be the greatest performance I’ve ever seen on the show.”

Rounding out the night was Team John’s Omar Jose Cardona, who belted out “I Want to Know What Love Is” by Foreigner. John loved the song as it allowed Omas to connect emotionally to the audience. Camila called it “euphoric,” while Gwen and Blake agreed that it was Omar’s most passionate performance on the show.
