Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) has been struggling for weeks over the shock and guilt of her terrible car accident in Emmerdale that nearly cost the life of Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell). For a long time the truth was blamed on Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln), but when it comes out it will change everything for Megan.
Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) has been encouraging Megan to keep quiet, but she confesses to him that she has told the police everything – that she was texting and drove into the back of Jamie, who in turn hit Eric. She goes on to tell Pollard she is on her way to give a full statement and she’s ready to face the consequences of her actions.
But there’s one consequence she most certainly isn’t ready for – Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) learns from Faith (Sally Dexter) about Megan’s guilt and he confronts her.
She is left absolutely stunned when he tells her how disgusted he is and what he’ll do next – given she’s such a liability and a very good liar, he’ll be keeping custody of Eliza. How will Megan react?
Speaking of what’s to come for Megan, actress Gaynor Faye told metro.co.uk: ‘I might go to prison!
‘Yeah, she’s going through so many variations of what could happen. She thinks if she just keeps her mouth shut, it’ll just go away. But then she confesses to Frank because I don’t think she can keep it all in her own head. He’s got a completely different take on it, he wants her to keep very quiet.
‘But she has got a conscience and she’s always got on with Eric and obviously her daughter was in the car, so what would people think of her? There’s all sorts of reasons that she wouldn’t want it out there.’
She added that Megan wouldn’t do well behind bars.
‘I don’t think it’d be a great place for her, I think she’d definitely get into a lot of trouble in prison,’ she said. ‘But that could be a good thing – it’d be great to play. We have got a little prison set because so many people go to prison on this show.’
