Strictly ‘fix’ claims as fuming fans lash out after ‘favourite’ exits show

Furious Strictly Come Dancing lashed out at the show and accused the judges of "fixing" the result so that Danny John-Jules would leave the competition following row-gate.

The Red Dwarf actor, 58, faced cricketer Graeme Swann in the dance-off tonight and was only saved by Graeme Swann.

However many fans felt his Samba on Saturday night had been severely undermarked and that he had been "stitched up".

This comes after Danny himself appeared to accuse the BBC of "bullying" him over "rowgate".

The pair have had a difficult week after an intense row left Danny’s distraught professional partner Amy Doweden in tears as she ran out of rehearsals on Wednesday.

Flocking to Twitter, fans hit out at the judges and show and claimed that they had "fixed" the result.

One tweeted: "theyve stitiched danny right up he wasnt the worst dancer by a long shot last night but they decide who gets more marks-their faves."

While another commented: "Were danny and @dowden_amy marked on their dancing or on the backstage issues? Danny, for whatever reason, seems to have been hung out to dry… He wasn’t as bad as the marks suggested. #Strictly

A third remarked: "#strictly clearly rigged this week to force Danny out. Massively underscored and then a farcical decision in the danceoff. If they can rig the results at the bottom, how can you trust the ones at the top?"

After the result, Danny said: "It’s been a great experience and I’m just so unhappy I didn’t get Amy to where she needed to be. And I just think that as I said before, everything I have done on this show is because of Amy.

"It was her training, her choreography that got me here. I can only look as good as her dancing and you know, she is great, and I hope that her career goes up and onwards as she deserves."

Meanwhile Amy said: "Do you know Danny told me day one that he has been a frustrated song and dance man. And I just think it’s lovely that the nation has been able to see your talent and to see you back out there performing again, so thank you for delivering such amazing performances week in, week out.

"And your children are going to be so proud of you."

He added: "My children love her they are probably going to be watching this now really sad. And I know that they love you, and I love you."

*Danny and Amy will be appearing on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two with Zoe Ball for their first interview live on Monday 12 November at 6.30pm on BBC Two
