Animosity ensues between Cain and Aaron Dingle (Jeff Hordley and Danny Miller) in their two-hander Emmerdale instalment, but with both characters set to evolve over the course of the episode — and lockdown — will Aaron’s harsh words result in Cain reconciling with Moira (Natalie J Robb)?
While spending lockdown with Aaron, Cain remains adamant that he will not be opening up about his feelings.
Viewers will know that he was devastated when the truth about Moira’s affair with Nate (Jurrell Carter) was revealed, and he’s struggled to forgive his beloved wife, but recent scenes have seen the pair become somewhat closer.
However, it appears as it’ll be the love of Aaron’s life that will be the topic of conversation for much of the special episode, as a letter from prison arrives, and Cain — knowing Robert (Ryan Hawley) is the sender — wrestles with what to do for the best.
Worried that Aaron could slip back into his despair, he therefore decides to hide the envelope in a magazine.
The days in lockdown pass by, one after another, and — as he gets drunk with Aaron — Cain accidentally lets slip about the letter, and Aaron is fuming as a result.
Cain can’t quite remember where he’s hidden it, as Aaron continues to rail last him — delivering some home truths about his relationship with Moira in the process.
Later, Cain attempts to apologise for what he did, but he struggles to open up.
However — with Aaron having brought up Moira, and tensions running high — one can’t help but wonder if Aaron’s words — not to mention the fact that Aaron cannot be with the love his life — will make Cain realise that he wants to be with Moira after all?
