Ryan returns and is uneased by Carla's new idea in Corrie

Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) returns to Coronation Street soon, but it quickly becomes apparent the beloved character is still seriously struggling with his confidence.

Ryan was attacked with acid by Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still) a few months ago and has been left with mental and physical scars that have changed his life forever. One thing that’s been the focus for the character recently is acknowledging just how different he looks now compared to before his attack.

The way he looks is at the forefront of Ryan’s mind when he returns to Weatherfield after seeing his mum in Ireland, as he tells Carla (Alison King) that no one would want to see his face on screen after she suggests that he starts making some motivational videos.

Towards the end of the week, Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) attempts to chat with Ryan, but it’s clear their friendship is still in a difficult place after the ordeal involving Daisy pretending to be Crystal.

Later, alone in the flat, Ryan opens up a parcel addressed to a fake name and takes out illegal steroids.

He proceeds to inject himself with them, convinced it will help with his self esteem levels.

As Ryan battles this addiction in secret, will anyone pick up on his sudden change in behaviour?

‘Your face is the first thing you look at when you get up in the morning and look in the mirror’, Ryan Prescott told us.

‘It’s your first means of communication, the thing you most readily identify with yourself. When that changes, everything changes. Despite the massive shift that the incident causes, he is determined to not let it define who he is. He is trying to find his way back to the infectious spirit, but it’s a long road.’
