Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) has a lot to face right now what with things going wrong with Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) and the discovery she’s pregnant in Coronation Street. Something has got to give.
Gemma learned she’s pregnant with Chesney’s baby, but has yet to tell him after he mistook her morning sickness for a hangover and the pair’s relationship came to an end. But she can’t keep it a secret forever.
For now though, she plans to, but she’s forced to quit her job at Prima Donner as the smell of kebab meat is making her sick. She arrives at the Rovers and gets upset behind the bar so Ryan takes her into the back room for a chat. Though their little heart to heart is innocent and just sees Ryan telling her to talk to Chesney, when they re-emerge behind the bar Chesney spots them and gets entirely the wrong impression.
He loses it, and in the process upsets an already fragile Gemma, who rushes out as Chesney realises he’s made a mistake.
Gemma’s adamant Chesney can’t know about the baby and announces she’s off to live with her mum. She sits on the bench waiting and Paul spots her, begging her to realise she has a lot of people around her who love her. Chesney spots her and pulls up beside her to convince her to come back, but what will he say?
Chesney tries to get her to return to the cobbles but she’s a tough nut to crack. He returns to Rita and Paul and says he tried, and that he wants to be part of the baby’s life but that she’s disappeared off to the estate.
Gemma is clearly adamant she wants to be alone, is her time on the street over for good?
