Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) is far from pleased to discover that Corey Brent’s (Maximus Evans) football career is going from strength to strength in Coronation Street.
Corey is promoted to Weatherfield County’s first team next week.
Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) – upon hearing the news – pops into the cafe for a chat with Nina, and manages to momentarily distract her by talking about her fashion course at college.
But discussion soon moves to Corey once more.
Nina tells her pal that news of Corey’s promotion ‘didn’t help’ her in the slightest. In fact, she ended up on the club’s website in order to find out more about the killer’s good news.
‘Listen to this,’ she said, as she scrolled through the webpage, reading aloud what she found.
‘Corey has impressed all his first team players with his intelligent running in front of goal.
‘Corey holds his own in training. He gives as good as he gets. he has that little bit of devilment.
‘Devilment? This is a cold blooded murderer we’re talking about?’
Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) stops by to check in on Nina in the wake of Corey’s promotion, and – much like Nina – he’s not pleased that the murderer has come out on top once again.
‘Maybe there is something we can do,’ he says in the above clip, taken from Friday’s (October 1) first edition of the ITV soap.
‘And I think I know the person who can help us doing it!’
Nina and Asha smile – evidently a fan of whatever it is that Kev has got in mind. The question is: just what is Kevin up to?
What’s more, will he succeed in exposing Corey for the killer he is?
