Marvel's Runaways star Kip Pardue accused of sexual assault by True Blood's Sarah Scott

Marvel’s Runaways star Kip Pardue has been accused of sexual misconduct by Sarah Scott, his co-star in a TV pilot.

Scott accused fellow actor Pardue of putting her hand on his groin while filming a sex scene, and also alleged that he masturbated in front of her after filming that scene.

She claims that the incident involving Pardue happened on May 16 when they filmed a scene together for pilot series Mogulettes.

“I literally froze. I said, ‘What are you doing?'” Scott told the Los Angeles Times. She says Pardue told her: “This isn’t a #MeToo thing. I’m not your employer. It’s not like I can fire you.”

Pardue apologised to Scott for putting her hand on his groin when contacted by reporters from the Times, but has denied her other allegations.

“I clearly misread the situation during a sex scene on set and have apologised to Sarah,” Pardue responded in a statement. “I never intended to offend her in any way and deeply regret my actions and have learned from my behaviour.”

Scott revealed that she contacted the show’s producers, the union SAG-AFTRA and the Time’s Up Legal Defence Fund, as well as filing a police report.

TV Guide reports that both parties have agreed to enter mediation and SAG-AFTRA is reviewing the situation.

“Speaking out about this has been extraordinarily difficult for me, and now I understand why so many don’t,” Scott said.

“I was sexually violated while at work, and even though I had the courage to tell anyone and everyone who’d listen, as time went on, it seemed like I had very little control in truly preventing this from happening to anyone else.”

Following the sexual misconduct claims, Pardue’s role on Marvel’s The Runaways on Hulu appears to be unaffected currently. Digital Spy has reached out to Hulu and Marvel for comment.

Marvel’s Runaways will return on December 21 on Hulu in the US. Syfy airs the show in the UK.
