Love Island’s Jess Gale breaks silence on Ched Uzor split two weeks after he confirmed lockdown had torn them apart – The Sun

LOVE Island's Jess Gale has broken her silence on splitting with Ched Uzor – two weeks after he revealed that lockdown had torn them apart.

The 21-year-old star took to her Instagram page to confirm that she and the 23-year-old hunk have remained friends.

In a short post on her Story, the blonde twin wrote: "To confirm, myself and Ched have split, we are still good friends and I wish him all the best x".

Jess added: "Thanks for all the support you have given us since the villa."

Ched shared the post to his own Insta Story but did not add any further comment having broken the news last month.

Speaking on Johnny Seifert's Secure The Insecure podcast, the star said at the time: "We came out, as you can imagine we had interviews together up and down.

"We were in London, we were in Manchester. So I spent two weeks with her.

"Then I came home and then the following Monday we got locked down. So she was in lockdown with her sisters and I was in Suffolk at home with my family. So we haven’t seen each other really."

However, he insisted that they are good friends, and still spoke on the phone each day.

Confirming they aren't in a romantic relationship, Ched added: "We voice note everyday. It's just harder. Obviously when you haven’t seen somebody you feel like you are not as close.

"Right now we just talk everyday about random topics. I wouldn’t say we really have romantic conversations.

"I like Jess. I would say we are just talking and seeing each other and seeing how things go. We are not in a relationship though.

"We will see how things go. If it works out it works out. But at the moment we are not doing everything you want to be doing to build into a relationship."

Ched and Jess met during the Casa Amor stage of this year's winter series of Love Island.

They managed to reach the final together, finishing in fourth place.
