Love Island’s Iain Stirling BANNED from being ‘mean’ to contestants

Summer is here and Love Island is just around the corner with its start date finally being revealed as Monday June 3.

Although fans still don’t know who will be lucky enough to go into the villa, what we do know is that Iain Stirling, the hit show’s narrator, will once again be resuming his spot as the resident voiceover.

However, it may not all be plain sailing after the 31-year-old revealed that he can no longer say all of the things he really wanted to.

On Sunday Brunch Stirling admitted: “Some of them they let us do  and some they say ’You obviously can’t say that’”.

But it seems Iain has managed to find a way around the new strict rules by adding in some cheeky Scottish quips: “We get some Scottish phrases in. London TV execs are like: ‘Oh, what a quaint phrase.’ I’m like: ‘That doesn’t mean that.’

Iain receives the episodes the day before the show goes up, giving him time to write the jokes, along with his writing partner.

“Me and him spend two months trying to not get sunburned and looking at people and being sarcastic about them. It’s really great fun,” he continued.

Following this, the comedian explained that he was close to turning down the hot job as it was set to clash with other work commitments.

“I said no loads of times because I’m not a reality TV guy. It films in July, just before the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. But I’ve never looked back.”

Although the show won’t be airing until next month, Daily Star Online published pics indicating that one of the contestants has already been identified as Sav Berry, a Social Media influencer.

Love Island rep has subsequently denied Sav Berry as being part of the line-up.

Love Island is set to return Monday June 3 2019 on ITV
