The reality star, 27, shared the image as part of an online campaign by an acid attack victim to celebrate all "all beauty".
She wrote: "This time last year when I felt my worst and these pictures were posted in the papers."
The make-up artist said she shared the image in support of Zanzibar acid attack victim Katie Gee.
Katie and pal Kirstie Trup were targeted in August 2013 when one of two men on a moped hurled battery acid in their faces from a jerry can before the bike roared off.
Alexandra recently opened up about her shock after four people in her family died in one year and she found out her boyfriend had cancer.
She kept quiet about her past pain and the trauma of losing four people close to her around the same time as finding out her boyfriend was seriously ill.
Though she never talked about the devastating tragedy on the ITV2 show, she said it was the darkest period in her life.
She said: "The hardest battle I ever went through was probably, I had four family members die in a year and my boyfriend and then my mum got diagnosed with cancer.
"That was a really, really hard period for myself and yeah, I got through it.
"To be honest, I didn't really speak to anybody about it but then eventually you start to heal, and you start to open up a lot more about it.
"And, yeah you cry a lot of tears, but time is the biggest healer and yeah, you'll come through positively."
She was speaking to Heat for their Where's Your Head At? campaign, which aims to get a mental health first aider in every workplace or college.
The makeup artist admitted the time in her life was "the hardest battle" she'd ever been through."
Though Alexandra left the villa single, fellow 2018 Islander Alex Miller sparked romance rumours following the Reunion show.
The pair were spotted getting up close and personal at the wrap party for the ITV2 show and Megan Barton Hanson's former flame inside the villa has since posted a snap with the stunning make-up artist.
Taking to Instagram, Alex admitted that thinking of the brunette babe was helping him get over his Love Island holiday blues.
He captioned a pic of them lounging on an inflatable palm treet: "Post Love Island Depression kicking in!
"me & @alexandralouise__ living it up on an inflatable."
Many of Alex's 250,000 followers agreed that they made a great match, with one writing: "OMG they would be such a good couple."
Another agreed, adding: "That is one seriously good looking couple!"
A third begged the Specsavers model to try his luck with her, writing: "Go for @alexandralouise__ You both are matched for each other. Make a try."
