Janette Manrara says taking daughter to Strictly was ‘surreal’
Janette Manrara has detailed a surreal moment she recently had when visiting the Strictly Come Dancing studios with her daughter.
In July this year, the former professional dancer gave birth to her first child with Aljaz Skorjanec.
Although the duo are no longer part of the BBC show, with Aljaz stepping down in 2022 and Janette in 2021, it looks as though they’re still close to the stars of the show.
On Tuesday’s instalment of Lorraine, the pair confessed their house has never been busier as they’ve had people round to visit their baby Lyra Rose.
Janette said: “We’ve had lots of the Strictly lot come round. We had Sara Davies, Katya (Jones), Dan Walker and Rhys Stephenson, it’s been amazing all the love we’ve got from our family here in the UK.

The 39-year-old told Lorraine that Lyra recently had her first visit to Elstree Studios, where Strictly is filmed.
She added: “She’s come to It Takes Two a couple of times and she also just came with me to visit everyone at Elstree Studios.
“We saw some of the couples dancing and it was very beautiful.
“I was in the hair and makeup room feeding her and I just thought, ‘Oh my gosh, how crazy the world and life is’.

“I’m back here in this space 10 years later with my daughter, it was quite surreal.”
Lorraine commented how lovely that must’ve been as the dancer admitted it was a full-circle moment for her.
Although Janette left the main show two years ago, she’s still part of the Strictly family as she hosts its sister show on BBC 2 with Fleur East.
Lorraine added: “You’ve been there, you’ve done it. It’s like Anton being on the judges panel, you know so much about what’s going on, you can empathise with all the contestants.”
She replied:” I’m super happy that we’ve got Fleur on board as well now as a co-host.
“The same way that I did the show for so many years, she’s really walked in the shoes of everybody so I feel like we’re quite a team, we keep saying we’re sisters.”
Janette joined the BBC show back in 2013 when she became part of the professional dancer line-up before moving to It Takes Two in 2021.
